Tree Planting Day - A Tribute

Fallback

Some snaps from Six Degrees' tree planting day at Ship Rock Farm.

In the lush, rolling hills of Hoddles Creek, the team got wet and muddy and later warmed up over an open fire with cups of tea, following various leech incidents.

The day saw the planting of 500 native trees, navigating a small hail storm and demolishing a hearty country lunch.

Organised by Tree Project, an organisation that gets urban and rural communities working together to put trees back on the land. Their network of trained volunteers grows indigenous seedlings for rural landholders and land care groups who need help with re-vegetation.

Since 1989 Tree Project has sown 2 million trees.

This day was a tribute to our colleague, the very talented Geoff Cowap, whom we lost this year. We are so grateful for the time we had with him. A tree will grow in his name.
