An active and vibrant precinct devoted to the preservation of Victoria’s maritime history
Seaworks
A 5-stage transformation of a former maritime, industrial heritage site into a vibrant precinct for community activities, public events, and private functions, this project includes a meticulous renovation of the existing façade, ensuring that the historic character of the building is maintained. The entry hall has been updated to provide a welcoming and accessible space for visitors.
This extensive renovation carefully preserves the site's character while introducing upgrades like a lift for accessibility and a 2300-capacity events hall with views of the bay and city. The design considers the buildings simplicity and materiality as strengths, to create a contemporary community space for Williamstown.
