Caboose is characterised by its dynamic, changeable façade. A motorised glass room rolls out over the building line during open hours and contracts back into the building when closed, designed as a way to work with footpath trading by-laws.

The feel of the café is inspired by French railway stations and street furniture. It is intended to express a humane approach, using robust materials. Materials include rough slate, cast plaster wall panels, suspended concrete beams, raw timber finishes, coloured glass details and 1970’s Pirelli rubber flooring.
